TIF “Je Dois Faire” 2025 Award voor Mr. Amorn Luengnaruemitchai, Thailand Op 4 november 2025 heeft de Tilapia International Foundation (TIF) tijdens ISTA 13 en het FAO INFOFISH TILAPIA 2025 event in Bangkok de Mgr. J.D.F. Heine – “Je Dois Faire” Award uitgereikt aan Mr. Amorn Luengnaruemitchai, Managing Director van Manit Genetics (Thailand). De tweejaarlijkse Award, vergezeld van een oorkonde en een geldbedrag, eert personen of organisaties die zich uitzonderlijk hebben ingezet voor de ontwikkeling van de aquacultuursector. Mr. Amorn, alumnus van Kasetsart University en het Asian Institute of Technology, geldt al meer dan twintig jaar als een toonaangevend voorloper in tilapiaveredeling en -genetica. Zijn werk wordt breed gewaardeerd door viskwekers in heel Thailand. Met deze onderscheiding herdenkt TIF tevens het levenswerk van haar oprichter Mgr. J.D.F. (Pater Jan) Heine, die zich wereldwijd inzette voor voedselzekerheid en het bestrijden van honger en stunting via duurzame tilapia-aquacultuur. Heine – “Je Dois Faire” Award to Mr. Amorn Luengnaruemitchai, Managing Director of Manit Genetics (Thailand), during ISTA 13 and the FAO INFOFISH TILAPIA 2025 event in Bangkok. The biennial Award, accompanied by an official certificate and a financial grant, recognizes individuals or organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the development of the aquaculture sector. Mr. Amorn, an alumnus of Kasetsart University and the Asian Institute of Technology, has been a leading pioneer in tilapia breeding and genetics for more than two decades. His work is highly valued by fish farmers throughout Thailand. Through this Award, TIF also honors the legacy of its founder Mgr. J.D.F. (Father Jan) Heine, whose lifelong commitment to food security and the fight against hunger and stunting continues to inspire sustainable tilapia aquaculture worldwide.
